About 10,000 customers trust us
The Cardio Choc story began in 1989, long before defibrillators became as common in workplaces and public spaces as they are today.
At the time, the company was called Réanimation Sauve Vie and focused mainly on emergency care training.
Things truly changed in 2017, when new owners took over the company. A new name, a new identity, new defibrillator brands: the goal was to grow this Quebec company and give it a Canada-wide reach.
Since then, Cardio Choc has expanded its activities, joined the Safe Life group and developed an offering that goes well beyond selling defibrillators.
Today, the company supports thousands of organizations in choosing, maintaining and managing their emergency equipment.
1989
It all started with a company specializing in basic and advanced emergency care training, offered throughout Quebec.
Defibrillator sales were gradually added to its activities, alongside the training.
Over several years, Réanimation Sauve Vie built its expertise in resuscitation and emergency equipment.
2017
In 2017, Réanimation Sauve Vie changed owners and began a major transformation.
The goal was to modernize the company, diversify its offering and reach customers across Canada.
Réanimation Sauve Vie then became Cardio Choc. The change came with a new visual identity, a new logo and a new website.
At the time, the company mainly distributed LIFEPAK defibrillators, sold by Physio-Control.
New agreements were then signed with ZOLL and Philips, giving customers a wider choice of brands and technologies.
The company also expanded its activities by developing its training and first aid supplies offering.
2020
When the pandemic hit, defibrillator sales stopped almost overnight.
For a company whose business relied heavily on AEDs, the situation was worrying.
The management team then made an important decision: to invest in masks, disinfectants and other protective equipment.
In a short time, first aid and protective equipment made up almost all of the company's sales.
This decision carried significant financial risk, but it allowed Cardio Choc to keep operating during a particularly uncertain period.
2022
In 2022, Cardio Choc joined the international Safe Life group, which brings together companies specializing in first aid and rescue equipment and services.
This partnership allows Cardio Choc to work with other entrepreneurs in the same industry, share knowledge and benefit from the experience of companies facing similar challenges.
It also helps strengthen relationships with manufacturers and supports Cardio Choc's growth in the Canadian market.
Today
Since the 2017 takeover, Cardio Choc has greatly expanded its offering.
The company now offers several defibrillator brands, new and recertified devices, first aid equipment, as well as AED inspection, maintenance and management services.
Its closer ties with Santinel, which specializes in occupational health and safety, also make it possible to offer more services to businesses.
And the facilities have changed a lot.
After starting out in offices set up above a residential garage, the company is now part of a group with about 150 team members and a 30,000-square-foot warehouse.
This growth was built over the years, with new colleagues joining, new services being developed and the trust of our customers.
Buying an AED is a first step. But once the device is installed, you also need to know how to use it, check its condition and replace its components at the right time.
These are questions our customers ask us regularly.
At Cardio Choc, we developed our services to meet these needs.
Our team knows the features of the different AED brands, their technical specifics and their maintenance requirements.
We are distributors of ZOLL, Philips, LIFEPAK and HeartSine defibrillators, among others, which allows us to compare several technologies and help our customers make the right choice.
A selection of AEDs from different brands to meet the needs and budgets of organizations.
Inspection services for defibrillators, pads, batteries and accessories, to help organizations keep their equipment ready to respond.
Plans that give access to a defibrillator without a large upfront investment, with various follow-up and maintenance services depending on the plan.
With DefibSync, organizations can centralize information on their AEDs, track expiry dates and simplify the management of their equipment.
Kits, supplies and equipment to help businesses be better prepared for emergencies.
Our goal is to make things simple for our customers, whether they need a single defibrillator or have to manage several devices across different sites.
At Cardio Choc, we have always placed great importance on fast service and simple, straightforward communication.
When customers need to replace pads, get advice on a device or have their equipment inspected, they should be able to get an answer quickly.
We also believe we must be able to evolve the way we work.
Over the years, this has led us to develop new services, diversify the brands we distribute and offer solutions such as AED subscriptions and the DefibSync platform.
Our team brings together people with medical, technical and business knowledge in the field of defibrillation and first aid.
This combination allows us to support a small business buying its first AED just as well as an organization managing a fleet of devices across Canada.
One evening, at an event, a young boy of about eight came to thank a member of our team.
His father had suffered a cardiac arrest. A defibrillator sold by Cardio Choc to his municipality had been used to save him.
« This encounter reminds us why our work matters. »
Every day, we advise customers, prepare orders and follow up on equipment. But we rarely know what happens after a defibrillator is installed.
That time, we saw very concretely the difference a device available at the right moment can make for a family.
To help businesses and organizations be better prepared for cardiac emergencies by giving them access to the defibrillators, equipment and services they need.
We want to make choosing, buying and maintaining AEDs as simple as possible, while providing fast service and reliable support.
Cardio Choc is a team that knows its products, takes the time to answer questions and looks for practical solutions for its customers.
From defibrillator specialists to customer service, sales, logistics and management teams, everyone contributes to keeping the company running smoothly.
With Santinel and the Safe Life group, we can also count on colleagues with complementary expertise in occupational health and safety, training and first aid.
We are proud of how far we have come, but above all of the people who helped us get here.
Looking to equip your business with a defibrillator? Already have AEDs and want a simpler way to maintain them? Or just want to compare models before buying?
